Supply chain

Greenergy has taken the innovative step of disclosing location information about its supply chain on BioCarbon Tracker, Greenergy is providing information about the biofuel feedstock sourced from a particular area and a brief description of the measures being taken to address the bioarbon at risk.

This level of disclosure provided is unprecedented in the biofuel sector and points the way for other companies.

In January 2011, Greenergy was awarded winner for the biofuels sector status by the Forest Footprint Disclosure Project (FFD), http://www.forestdisclosure.com/.

FFD is a new UK government-supported initiative, created to help investors identify how an organisation’s activities and supply chains contribute to deforestation, and link this ‘forest footprint’ to their value.

Modelled on the successful Carbon Disclosure Project, it aims to create transparency and shed light on a key challenge within investor portfolios, where currently there is little quality information.

BioCarbon Tracker could be a useful tool for many companies seeking to participate in FFD.
